Chapter 154 An Impossibly Strong Enemy
Elanor and the other elves began firing arrows at the vampire. He managed to deflect most of them with his sword, but a single around managed to connect with his leg.
The vampire easily pulled out the arrow and threw it onto the ground. The wound healed shortly afterwards. At this point, we weren\'t doing enough damage to it. Robbie sent another wave of vegetation at it, but the vampire easily broke through and crushed all of his plants.
If Robbie\'s plants weren\'t strong enough then my [Tengen-Ko-Rin] wouldn\'t be able to do much against it either. The vampire didn\'t seem to have any openings or obvious weaknesses. It was extremely fast, extremely strong and had incredibly fast regeneration. Even with all of our [Regeneration Blockers] combined, it was still healing its injuries before we were able to kill it.
It scanned the surrounding area again, looking around at each of us.
All of a sudden, it made eye contact with me.
Shit.
I raised [Mayuri-Luc-Ei] and grabbed [Tengen-Ko-Rin] with my left hand. This was a fight for survival.
In a split second, the vampire dashed right in front of me. I swung [Mayuri-Luc-Ei] but the vampire was easily able to deflect my attack. With his crimson blade, I could see that he was about to strike my chest.
Chain him down, Tengen.
Thick chains were conjured, pinning each of his limbs. It only bought me a few milliseconds of time. Just enough time to allow me to get out of the way of his next attack. His blade fell centimetres away from my face. In desperation, I grabbed several grenades from my inventory and dropped them on the ground.
They all exploded, forming a huge wave of dust. It managed to block the vision of the vampire for long enough for me to get behind some cover. I needed to make some distance between the two of us since I couldn\'t continue to fight him. Under the smoke, I made my way behind a tree looking out into the battlefield.
As the dust settled, it seemed that the vampire had lost track of me. He then looked straight at Chloe.
Oh no.
One by one, he was targeting us. It was extremely hard for us to all stay alive, especially due to the fact that none of us was able to really damage him. As he dashed a Chloe, Robbie summoned plants from the ground and I conjured chains using [Tengen-Ko-Rin]. In the short moment that the vampire was immobilised, Elanor and the other elves fired at the vampire.
Quite a few arrows managed to dig themselves into him. The vampire turned and took a step, walking right into one of Maia\'s traps. In an instant, half of his body was deleted from existence. He lost both of his legs, frantically trying to regenerate them.
Cut him down, Mayuri.
In the chaos, all of us attacked him from a distance. Using various different projectiles, we tried to damage the vampire as much as possible. Arrows rained down, shockwaves smashed into him and plants wrapped around his body.

Damn, the only attack that seemed to really affect the vampire was Maia\'s traps. All of our other attacks barely did any damage in comparison. His healing capacity was too much, making it incredibly difficult for us to get a break. I took a few steps back to increase the distance between us.
Robbie was constantly flooding the vampire with attacks using his plants.
"Rein Alchemilla!"
The ground suddenly turned into a bright shade of green. There was a clean layer of grass which was conjured into existence. I had seen this ability before. It was something that allowed Robbie to sense the movements of everything on the grass.
The only problem was that this power didn\'t really synergise that well with Maia\'s. Her traps seemed to be much more obvious on top of this bright, well-kept grass. As a result, the vampire was able to evade landing in one of her traps.
The elves continued firing arrows at the vampires. For some reason, Elanor seemed to be weaker than I expected. From Elrich\'s description back in the day, I expected her to be much stronger than she is. From what I could see, she was only slightly stronger than the usual elven archer. I hoped that she was concealing her true strength for whatever reason. She was my main trump card in this entire situation.

The vampire was still standing strong, with a large portion of his blood remaining. I continued to keep my distance as the others fought. I still couldn\'t really see the victory from here. I was struggling to stay alive, let alone deal significant damage to the vampire.
"Rein Helleborus"
Thick green vines were extruded from Robbie\'s arms, grabbing the vampire. These were Robbie\'s strongest vines, the ones which defeated Joel. The vampire seemed to have been distracted for a short moment, resulting in the vines managing to wrap themselves around him. The vampire seemed to have expected to be able to just easily break free, however, the vines didn\'t break as he expected.
Immediately, projectiles rained on the vampire. Now that he was being held by the vines, the projectiles were able to connect with his body. We managed to deal a significant amount of damage to it, however, as expected, it wasn\'t going to be this easy.
"Sword, drink more blood!"
Crap.
Suddenly, aura burst out of the vampire\'s body. A rich red colour surrounded his entire body. His strength had drastically increased. Slowly, I could see rips forming within the vines. Even Robbie\'s strongest weapon was being slowly torn apart by the vampire. The fibres of the vines were being torn as the vampire broke free.
A few moments later, the vines were being ripped to shreds. The vampire\'s power was simply too overwhelming.
We were back to square one.
