Chapter 29 - Sound Asleep
After a long journey, the car finally stopped in front of the house. Anya was still leaning on Aiden\'s shoulder, fast asleep, unaware that they had arrived at their destination. Abdi quickly opened the passenger door while Hana and the other servants hurriedly lined up in front of the car to welcome their master.
Before they all could open their mouths to greet Aiden and Anya, they saw Aiden put his forefinger to his lips, gesturing for everyone to remain silent. Aiden asked them to be quiet. The servants exchanged astonished glances. Hana tried to peek into the car, causing Harris, who was already standing beside her, nudged her softly.
Aiden got out of the car carrying Anya, leaving the woman asleep in his arms. Anya muttered a little, waking up a little by the time she lost her support. In the end, she fell back asleep while burying her face in Aiden\'s arms.
Aiden walked to the main room, followed by Hana who opened the door for the two of them. She lifted the blanket on the big bed and straightened the pillows so that Anya could sleep comfortably. After that, she left the room right away.
Aiden gently placed Anya\'s body on the bed. As her head touched the soft pillow, he could hear Anya sighing in satisfaction. This made Aiden smile faintly.
When he was about to leave Anya and go to his study, Anya\'s hands suddenly hugged his waist tightly as if she was not willing to let him go. Aiden was a little surprised when he saw the two tiny hands wrapped around his waist so tightly.
If only the woman had woken up and had done this consciously, Aiden\'s heart would have been so excited that it could soar into the seventh heaven. Unfortunately, the woman was fast asleep. She was subconsciously hugging him and probably wouldn\'t remember it when she woke up.
However, this little thing alone was enough to make Aiden happy. At least, Anya unconsciously felt dependent on him.
Aiden returned to sit on the side of the bed. His hand went up to gently stroke Anya\'s head. His hands continued to caress Anya\'s hair that had fallen on the pillow, calming her so that the woman finally fell asleep again.
Before he went to leave the room, he leaned forward, leaving a soft kiss on Anya\'s forehead. The kiss lasted for a while, as if he wanted to leave his mark on Anya\'s body. After seeing the woman sleeping peacefully, he left to continue his work.
…
After leaving the main room, Hana realized that Anya was wearing a different dress from the one she wore when she left.
\'I think, that was not the clothes he chose for Anya…\'
While she was thinking, the main bedroom\'s door suddenly opened and Aiden came out. Seeing Hana, Aiden immediately asked her for help, "Mrs. Hana, please find a burn ointment for Anya\'s face."
\'Uh, burn ointment?\'
Before Hana could ask him further, Aiden had already walked to his office, leaving Hana alone and confused. With curiosity haunting her mind, she rushed to find medicine for Anya.
At that moment, she saw her son walking in the corridor. It seemed like her son was about to go to the study to accompany Aiden. However, Hana couldn\'t hold her curiosity so she hurried to stop her son before he could climb the stairs.
"Harris, come here for a moment!" Hana immediately pulled Harris from the corridor, making Harris surprised.
"What\'s the matter, Mom? Mr. Aiden is waiting for me." Harris asked. He said that while turning his head to the second floor, towards Aiden\'s study. He had to rush to the study and help with his boss\'s work. What\'s the point of an assistant if he was relaxing while his boss was busy at work?
"What happened to Anya? Why did he ask for burn ointment for her? Is she hurt?" Hana asked, a little worried.
Harris scratched his head, "I can\'t explain it in detail. The story is too long. Earlier, Madame had an argument with Natali and her father. Natali watered her with coffee. But it shouldn\'t hurt that badly because the coffee has gotten a little cold." Harris said, trying to briefly explain the day\'s event to his mother.
Harris\'s explanation made Hana very surprised. Apart from being shocked, anger slowly grew in her heart.
"Natali Tedjasukmana. That woman is insolent. From the start, she disliked the Master and didn\'t want to be with him just because the master couldn\'t see. Now, he takes advantage of an innocent woman and makes her a scapegoat so she can cancel the engagement. Then what about the father? He must have been very surprised to see his two daughters fighting…" Said Hana.
Harris rolled his eyes as he remembered Deny\'s previous attitude. The man was silent when he saw his daughter being bullied. However, when he saw Aiden\'s arrival, Deny seemed to be happily wagging his tail.
"Her father didn\'t even defend her. Her father was just trying to curry favor with Mr. Aiden." Harris replied.
"What kind of father would allow his two daughters to fight like that and let one of them be publicly humiliated?" Hana couldn\'t believe what she heard. She kept grumbling so it made Harris\'s ears feel hot.
Harris could only sigh when he heard his mother\'s scolding, "I have no idea. Their relationship is very complicated. They are not like family in general."
"Then what happened?" Hana asked again.
"Mr. Aiden has already replied to Natali, but he hasn\'t done anything to Deny because that man is madam\'s real father. And it seems that Madame loves her father very much, even though her father treats her unfairly." Harris replied quickly.
After that, he looked at the watch wrapped around his wrist and said, "Mother, I really have to go. Mr. Aiden is waiting for me." After saying that, he immediately rushed to Aiden\'s study.
Hana continued to look for medicine for burns while grumbling to herself
...
Anya woke up feeling uncomfortable. She straightened up and sat on the bed, trying to stretch her entire body which felt stiff. After that, she looked out of the window and realized that the sun had set and the sky was dark.
\'How long have I been asleep?\'
She turned when she heard a knock on his door, "Yes?"
"Madame, are you awake? It\'s time for dinner. Mr. Aiden is waiting for you at the dining table." Said one of the maids.
Hearing the servant\'s words, Anya glanced at the clock above the nightstand, next to her bed.
The clock showed that it was half past eight.
\'Aiden was late for dinner because he was waiting for me.\' Anya thought to herself.
"I\'ll come down soon." She answered.
She hurriedly changed her wrinkled household clothes. She did not forget to smooth her messy hair a little and rushed down.
While descending the stairs, her brain was spinning rapidly. She would meet Aiden again at the dinner table.
\'Is that man still mad at me? Should I apologize?\'
\'How can I make Aiden not angry with me anymore?\'
