Chapter 1568: Deception

The Mossflayer was quite easily dealt with, so Lu Li brought the third and fourth tablets back quickly.

The Ironboot were an uncommon but academically gifted clan, especially in the field of archaeology. Therefore, Jans Ironboot must have done research into the Troll language.

However, this didn’t mean that he was as fluent as Yeh’kinya and could translate it as quickly.

“Let me investigate this. Use this time to bring back the fifth and sixth tablets as well.”

Lu Li and Hachi Chan accompanied the prospector for a while, then were hurried onto the last two tablets. These two couldn’t do anything to help anyway.

“Alright then. Where are these two tablets?” Hachi Chan felt like giving up. She couldn’t read the words, no matter how hard she tried.

“They are in the Blackrock Spires, in the hands of the Smolderthorn Trolls. The Spires are situated in between the Burning Steppes and the Searing Gorge. Molten lava and fire run across the black mountains in that place.”

Jans Ironboot didn’t like that place; it could be said that he detested it. This was because there were ex-Ironboot clan Dwarves in that area who were now just slaves for the Firelord.

“Oh. How nice. It’s someplace familiar again.”

Hachi Chan, on the other hand, really liked the Blackrock Spires.

The Instance Dungeon in the Blackrock Spires was closer to the level 60 mark. Therefore, the difficulty was naturally higher than before. However, there were also many Ruling Sword squads in this area, so Lu Li and Hachi Chan just tagged along with one of them and quickly retrieved the fifth and sixth tablets.

Once he saw that they had returned, Jans Ironboot immediately rushed over and took them.

Seeing that his face was of a grave expression, Lu Li and Hachi Chan didn’t say another word. They just stood by and watched him decipher the words on these two tablets. Fortunately, that didn’t take too long.

“My friends. You have been deceived. After investigating the Mosh’Aru tablets, I received a terrifying piece of news,” Jans Ironboot wearily explained. “You have used an Ancient Egg to collect Hakkar’s spirit essence. Yeh’kinya has told you that it was for sealing Hakkar’s powers in the Egg. However, the truth is that the Ancient Egg is used to revive the Evil God Hakkar! Damn that troll! He wants to revive Hakkar!”

“How did it become like this?” Hachi Chan was nearly on the verge of tears. She thought that she was the saviour of Azeroth, instead of condemning Azeroth to its doom.

“Don’t panic. Let’s listen to what Brother Ironboot has to say. What should we do?” Lu Li asked, trying to comfort her. She was completely invested in the questline. Perhaps this was why she could receive lots of quests.

“Let’s go. Let’s go and find Yeh’kinya and destroy that Egg. I can only hope that we have enough time to destroy Hakkar once and for all,” Jans Ironboot said as he rubbed his hands together, took his shovel, and brought them towards Yeh’kinya’s place.

Yeh’kinya was surprisingly still there and was still packing up.

Perhaps it was because he stayed with Goblins for too long that he decided to bring everything with him. He couldn’t let others profit off of what he left behind.

Hachi Chan felt that she was deceived and lied to, so she accused him immediately.

“Yeh’kinya...Uncle, why did you lie to us?”

“I didn’t...” Yeh’kinya was planning on continuing with the deception, but then he saw that Jans Ironboot was with them. He, too, recognised this clan that was famous in the archaeological world, so he knew that lying would no longer work.

As a result, he changed his words, saying, “Young one, I have lied. However, is it wrong to pursue my own ideals through my own hard work? Everyone has their own ideals which they pursue.”

“What a shameless man. You desire to destroy this land. Is that your ideal and ambition?” Jans Ironboot was furious.

“Destroy? Why would Lord Hakkar destroy the land? You young ones do not share the same passion and love for the land compared to us. When the Ancient Trolls fought for this land, none of you were in your mothers’ wombs yet!”

This debate was destined to be useless. In the end, the only solution was a battle.

However, Yeh’kinya’s goal was already achieved. Furthermore, he also didn’t want to hurt Hachi Chan, an adventurer who he was particularly fond of, so he chose to escape instead.

“My name is Jin’do!”

A green serpent then streaked across the sky and into the clouds above.

“Jin’do. The Atal’ai Priest Jin’do. Is Hakkar going to be resurrected?” Jans Ironboot solemnly asked as he looked skywards.

Since the topic was on Hakkar, a mighty Troll kingdom must be mentioned – the Gurubashi Trolls. In that powerful kingdom, there was a devotional cult comprised of Atal’ai Priests who worshipped Hakkar. These passionate followers had one goal in mind: to bring their Lord into the world.

After experiencing a large internal war, these Hakkar followers were ultimately defeated and eternally banished.

After this, they arrived in the northern area of the Swamp of Sorrows. It was here where they constructed a gigantic temple for Hakkar – the Atal’Hakkar Temple. This was where they resumed their worship as well as prepared for the resurrection of their god.

Around this time, Ysera of the Green Dragonflight received news of the evil plans of the Hakkar followers. Under the leadership of Eranikus, they courageously faced the Trolls in battle. Green, red and black-colored blood filled the Swamp of Sorrows. In the end, the powerful Eranikus sacrificed his life to summon the Green Dragons’ symbol of strength, which was the legendary sword – Dragon’s Call.

Although the Green Dragonflight suffered considerable losses, the Temple also suffered equally.

Furthermore, the Atal’ai Priests ended up discovering that the true body of Hakkar could only be formed and summoned in Zul’Gurub. Upon this discovery, they secretly moved into a remote area in Zul’Gurub, a remnant of the past Troll Kingdom.

Once again, they prepared for the coming of Hakkar into the world and sought to restore the Troll Kingdom to its former glory.

The battle of Zul’Gurub then began!

One of the Priests, Jin’do, disguised himself as an archaeologist and hid in the outskirts of Zul’Gurub. He changed his name Yeh’kinya, and managed to successfully deceive adventurers like Lu Li and Hachi Chan. He managed to trick them into sealing Hakkar’s spirit essence into the Ancient Egg.

“I am incredibly grateful that you have helped me reveal Jin’do’s identity,” Jans Ironboot said. “I need to go and report this news to other people, so you guys can have these rewards. I hope that we’ll have more opportunities to work together and stop these insane people in the future.”

Besides equipment, there was also a great amount of Fame given as a reward. This quest was part of the main storyline and Hachi Chan and Lu Li were the first ones to complete it. Naturally, the rewards would be abundant.

“Don’t worry, my Dwarven friend,” Lu Li earnestly said. “I will bring others and cleanse the whole area of Zul’Gurub!”

He needed to express something like this at this time. No matter who it was, even if it was Sargeras, Lu Li still needed to say something like this. Otherwise, how would he receive his rewards?

If you were sad alongside the NPC and sighed along with him, then you would have to prepare for more sighing afterwards.

“How devastating, my Elven friend. Your determination puts even the Dwarfs to shame.”

Jans Ironboot seemed to be motivated once again. He slapped his chest and proudly said, “No matter who it is, no matter if they are people or gods, if they want to destroy my homeland, then it will be over my dead body!”

The System then notified Lu Li that he had been given the Warcry of the Ironboot, which gave the team a 5% increase in Attack.

Although this wasn’t as powerful as the Dragon Slayer’s Roar, Lu Li didn’t expect a reward like this, so he was satisfied. Joyfully, he said goodbye to Jans Ironboot. In the Dwarfs’ eyes, this was a showing of determination and positivity.

“Was it because of our quest that this was the result?” Hachi Chan sadly asked.

“Don’t be stupid. If Hakkar never came, how would we defeat him? It didn’t matter if we did this quest or not. Hakkar was bound to come anyway,” Lu Li laughed as he rubbed her head. He didn’t worry about the quest at all.

“Ah? Why’s that?” Hachi Chan couldn’t understand.
