Chapter 435: When Things Don’t Go Their Way... Grow in Size!

The abilities of these three female Voidwalkers was incredibly revolutionary. The Assassin Walker had incredible speed and evasiveness, supported by the extreme mobility of Coup de Grace; the power of the Fairy Walker’s long-ranged attacks exceeded the imagination; the Warrior Walker combat chi and martial arts were both domineering. These three women utilized their abilities to the extreme, unleashing a flurry of powerful punches. Although they were unable to deliver landscape-changing attacks like the giant hammerhead shark plushie which fought Molocchus, their combined attacks were fluid, in sync, and helped cover each other’s back.

Their combined attack was breathtaking to watch. Three beautiful ladies switching in and out of the Divine Leathersuit in split seconds when the situation called for it. Their beauty perfectly complemented their exquisite techniques. This scene was good enough that any spectator would not hesitate to hit the replay button over and over again.

The only fault this string of attacks had was how practical — therefore, a littleboring — its effects were. The attacks visually lacked oomph, and the Huffing Piggies had on conservative outfits, not skintight latex bodysuits or swimsuits, which would reveal large swathes of fair, supple skin. Many would call this unfortunate.

The concept was pragmatic and incredibly helpful, and the three Huffing Piggies quickly developed their art of fighting. It took them years to create tactics, techniques, and set-moves, and it took them a longer period of training to ensure that these combination moves could be executed perfectly, without openings that enemies could exploit. These moves took full advantage of the Divine Leathersuit’s features and abilities.

The Huffing Piggies practiced really hard for many years. A lot of times, tensions between the three would reach boiling point, causing a huge fight to break out. [1]

After ten years of bitter training, the trio finally developed enough synergy between themselves, causing the execution of their combination moves to reach perfection. The only thing they lacked was a platform to show off the results of their training. The man that they shared was eventually sent to another universe by the Grandruler of Forgiveness, leaving them the chance of a lifetime to finally show off!

When the Grandruler saw his guards get decimated in seconds by the dazzling feat, his expression turned serious. He raised the Law Fragment, but he seemed to hesitate; and moments later, the Fragment vanished.

The war of conquest on Isythre had begun, and Duat was superimposing itself onto the realm. The Grandruler’s undead legions had already invaded Isythre and were capturing cities. All of these had happened because the Grandruler had utilized the power in the Law Fragment — a lot of power. He had already expended a lot of its power to banish Baiyi to another world.

There was not enough power left in the Law Fragment to use wantonly. If he banished the strange women with his Law Fragment, it might break, leaving him without his most important trump card.

With that thought in mind, the Grandruler chose to keep the Fragment. Undead energy surged out of him, and a heavy armor appeared on his body, coupled with a large, green broadsword, which appeared in his hand.

He had decided to fight the Huffing Piggies himself.

“Hmph! Ran out of ideas already?” Lady Assassin Walker sneered before vanishing. Barely a moment later, she had reappeared beside the Grandruler. This time, she forwent attacking him with her dagger and switched places with the Warrior Walker, instead.

Icy-blue combat chi flames erupted on the black-haired beauty’s hand, which she then balled into a fist and swung at the Grandruler’s back. A millisecond after, she somersaulted backward gracefully and dodged the large broadsword that had been swung at her.

After adding good distance between themselves, the Warrior switched into the Fairy, who launched a thick combat chi-fashioned arrow right at the Grandruler’s helmet.

The Grandruler swung its broadsword hard at the nick of time, rending the arrow into two; Then, just as the halves exploded into finer, sharper arrows, undead energy poured out of his body and deflected the shrapnel-like arrows away while the Grandruler himself lurched and heaved the tip of its sword towards the Fairy.

The Fairy morphed into Lady Assassin. She stood and braced the incoming attack—but just when the tip was about to touch her face, she once again performed Coup de Grace, vanishing from her spot and reappearing behind the Grandruler while simultaneously morphed into the Warrior.

The Warrior did not attack, however. Blue combat chi sprung from her hand which she fashioned into a concrete bow under a split second and changed into the Fairy, who then notched the arrow and pulled, aiming at her target point-blank—

A single icy blue arrow unwaveringly punctured through the Grandruler’s left chest before exploding violently.

“Whooh! Critical hit!” The Fairy morphed back into Lady Assassin, who let out a little celebratory exclamation. She was above thinking that they had won the fight, however, and in a second her tiny frame burst into black fog enveloping the Grandruler. Among the fog was her body, shimmering and dashing around the Grandruler flittingly, once again showcasing another one of Umbra’s Ultimate—The Dance of the Shadow.

Baiyi was always of the opinion that this move was more of a performance because it was just too weak—it was a technique that required the assassin to fight their enemy head-on, and though a qualified Umbra assassin would be able to use speed as their cover and an advantage, a sufficiently seasoned fighter would be able to easily keep up with them, mitigating the former’s only boon while capitalizing on the fact that the fragile assassin was no longer hiding in the shadow as they attacks. It was due to the move being completely disadvantageous to attempts at assassinations that made The Dance of the Shadow close to pure flashy move with not much use.

Lady Assassin had always listened to Baiyi, so she knew the problem. However, it was a long time since she had taken notes and inspiration from the fight between Baiyi and the magekiller; And now coupled with the skill sets and attacks from the Fairy and the Warrior, her particular Dance of the Shadow was no longer the same worthless distraction Baiyi knew.

In every single flash of appearance, Lady Assassin would leave a single Chi Blade connected with a wispy strand of Chi Thread in the air. After circumambulating the opponent within a few seconds, the air around him wasfilled with hanging arrows made from these Chi Blades.

She switched back into the Fairy for the finale. Pulling the string of a Combat Chi bow in her hand, the enchanting pixie grinned curtly and dandily released an arrow—and as it was linked to all the other surrounding arrows through the same Chi Thread, it turned into a salvo of arrows directing at the Grandruler in the middle of the ring.

The entire process could be described in seconds , yet between the acts of leaving Chi Blades and flashing in and out of sight alone, Lady Assassin and the Warrior had both swapped between themselves for more than a hundred times. The synergy between these two had gone way beyond what a normal fighter could possibly conceive.

In addition to the trio advantage in speed, due to being undead, the Grandruler was a lot slower and denser in action, too. He scarcely had the time to even react to the Dance of the Shadow when the salvo had begun.

Even energy being like himself could not possibly remain unharmed by such devastating attack—despite pulling in his undead energy back to himself the fastest he could muster, he was still too late.

The ensuing explosion had caused the towering black castle to tremble. The hall shook violently as the ceiling cracked into pieces of rubbles which then plummeted indiscriminately.

Lady Assassin maneuvered around the perilous environment dexterously with a few skillful leaps and danced away from the explosion, murmuring to herself softly, “Don’t think he’s out yet, Big Sister Warrior. Your turn.”

The Warrior took over her body amidst a bursting radiance of icy blue flames from all over her body. She let out a soft cry and the flaming combat chi poured into her right fist swiftly.

There was no flashy move, no flashy technique. Aided by Lady Assassin’s flash-steps to get closer to their target, The Warrior sensed him through the instincts of a veteran fighter and swung her right fist into a simple punch at the heavily injured, bodily incomplete Grandruler right before the explosion from their previous attack was over. It was an attack so direct and rudimentary that even a newbie fighter would be able to perform—it was so basic that it was atmospherically dissonant for the occasion. In fact, that single punch was too quiet for a last blow, too!

It was only after her fist had left whatever was remained of the Grandruler’s energy being when a sudden blast of shockwaves erupted out from the point of attack, shoving every single mote of dust fog and penetrating the walls of the hall. What was supposed to be harmless waves of air had turned into a formless, shapeless blade of the sharpest kind as it cleaved through the walls.

From the outside, the black castle looked as though a giant with a large sword had just taken a swing at the entire building—the castle was instantly cleaved off its top half by the shockwaves, which the top had already turned into large debris and rubbles pelting down the earth like an amplified hailstorm burying the ruins.

Lady Assassin danced and skipped around the falling rubbles and leaped onto the top of a halved stone pillar, which was previously a watchtower before the shockwave from the Warrior’s attack had cut it into half.

“Whoaaa whoa whoa! Now that’s Big Sister Warrior to you. Her one concentrated punch is cray-cray! That green goblin is gone now, I bet?” Lady Assassin remarked in a low voice as she watched the aftermath from her perch at the sliced stone pillar.

The aftershocks were still roaring through the area, causing her mini skirt to billow in the wind until finally, her supple, fair thighs revealed themselves.

Baiyi had to pause the flashback at this moment and turned to Lady Assassin who was already grinning like an idiot at her. He was just about to say something when the latter cut in quickly, “Yes, yes, no more mini-skirts next time, whatev. Pssh, I worn it for your eyes only, you Doofus—no one would be able to stand there and see me! Plus, are you telling me that these thighs are notpretty enough for you? Don’t you wanna lick them? Or should I wear a pair of over knee socks next time?”

Baiyi was speechless. No, he did not have any thought of slapping his tongue around them, because no matter how bodacious they were, she was just a set of armor... A sentiment he was sure the comment section would no doubt argue, though.

“What I really meant to ask was: why did you even think that this was the time for you to let your guard down and act cute?” Baiyi finally said what he truly thought.

“Well...” Lady Assassin lowered her head in mild embarrassment. “I mean, I have never met an opponent who are this difficult...”

It was true—despite being battered and broken by the time the Warrior had delivered her powerful punch, the Grandruler was far from dead (at least, dead for the second time). The undead energy being’s durability had gone way over the trio’s estimation.

When the trio had turned, preparing to leave the ruins of their making, a sudden growl of rage suddenly blared from the piles of rubbles burying him. It echoed throughout the entire realm, alerting the undead soldiers who were still battling the humans as well as the soldiers who were still in a rush towards their next target.

It caused every undead creature to suddenly turn direction and swarmed towards what was left of the black castle. From above, it was as if a black tsunami was heading towards the three Huffing Piggies from all sides!

To be fair, it was likely this reason that had allowed humans in Isythre to control much of their loss. If it was not for this unexpected change of event, humans—who did not anticipate this war at all—would have suffered even more casualties... including their own freedom.

Hence, although it was not exactly the wisest thing to do before making sure your enemy had really fallen, Lady Assassin’s fanservice moment actually did help turning the tides of the war considerably, as it created a distraction at the most critical moment, directed the attention of all undead soldiers to the three Huffing Piggies, and gave the humans a much-needed breather. With this small opening alone, the humans in Isythre were able to regroup and adjust their defensive strategies, since the enemies who had been relentlessly attacking them suddenly left. Then, when the enemies began to launch their attacks back at the humans once more, the latter was already more than ready to take them down.

Baiyi had to hand a lot of brownie points to the three Huffing Piggies for their incredible help in the humans’ victory.

However, back then, Lady Assassin had no idea that they had turned the tables. All she knew was that black deluge of undead creatures were swarming right at her, which caused her to panic a little as she cried, “Ohhhhhh nooooo! What do we do now?”

“The numbers are too much for us to take. We need help from the mages,” The Warrior said calmly.

“Which means we have to retreat for now!” The Fairy chimed in, obviously bummed out. “Goddamn it, I’m so pissed! I thought I could heroically save my darling like a badass, but this jerk just doesn’t wanna stay dead!”

The Grandruler, of course, knew that the three Huffing Piggies were planning to flee; He was not going to make that possible for them, either. Just when Lady Assassin was about to turn, another furious growl erupted from below the ruins—

The rubbles suddenly floated into midair, as if they had lost much of their mass and had turned into helium balloons. There, underneath the levitating rocks, was a massive horde of green glowing energy, completely unharmed.

It started to expand as if air was being pumped into it. It grew from the size of an average man to a giant about ten-odd yards tall!

More terrifyingly, although Lady Assassin had long began to conceal herself through her own sneaking techniques, that gigantic Grandruler managed to secure her through some unknown means. He slammed his fist downward into the earth, creating a crater about several yards wide.

“Gee, do all guys just grow in size when things don’t go their way?” Lady Assassin snarked a little while somersaulting into the air while cancelling her concealment technique. In a flash, she had turned into another side somersault to evade the next attack.

“Damn, can’t believe he turned into a giant—now this is really annoying! If only I still have the Caudillo Butterfly with me... Any ideas, girls?” The Fairy exclaimed in dismay.

It was that moment when a low, croaking voice came from a distance. “Excuse me.”

Another gigantic silhouette emerged, as green as the Grandruler. It was the hammerhead shark reaper from before, donning its ragged cloak, barring its teeth, and swinging its gigantic scythe towards the Grandruler who had just performed a Dynamax.

Following closely behind that hammerhead shark reaper was the Lich, who emerged from a dune with its Saint Quartz staff raised high. It looked at the trio and urged, “Go now! This thing is only a distraction.”

“Eew, I never thought that there would be a day when I get saved by a bag of stinky bones,” Lady Assassin brushed past the Lich as she ran, but her tone was more sincerely grateful than her words would have implied.

The Lich tucked the staff back to itself and fled to a different direction. In a distance, the hammerhead shark reaper was already locked in a chokehold by the Grandruler, the shark jerking like a fish out of water. As it flapped its fins, it gradually disappeared. Apparently, it was no match to the Grandruler when alone.

Just as the Lich had described it—it was just a distraction.
