Chapter 465 - An Exposed Trump Card

Chapter 465: An Exposed Trump Card

Everyone was apparently stunned by what just happened before them.

They even watched as those fighters from the Myriad Demon Valley revealing their true forms, becoming monsters right away before fighting the demons.

“Wait… what’s going on here? Are the monsters fighting the demons?”

Everyone was left baffled, having a hard time believing what they saw. They began to wonder what was going on.

Be it the demons from myths and legends that suddenly appeared out of nowhere or the monsters that the humans saw as their greatest enemy, there was no doubt that hostile beings were on both sides.

Even so, those mortal enemies of humanity were actually fighting amongst themselves right before the humans.

“So, what do we do now? Are we gonna fight both sides or what?”

The human fighters were rather confused by the situation, not knowing which side they should be helping. They began to think about whether or not they should just kill both demons and monsters at the same time.

Fortunately, Zhu Wuji eventually showed up and explained, “We of the Myriad Demon Valley are here on the orders of our master. He ordered us to aid you humans in exterminating the demons.”

As he finished speaking, Zhu Wuji locked his eyes with those of a fallen angel.

Both sides took to the skies. A great battle broke out between them in midair.

The humans finally came to their senses as well. They realized that instead of starting some sort of civil war between both hostile races, the monsters from the Myriad Demon Valley were there to assist them in the battle.

Someone was giving them orders! People began to wonder who would’ve been their commander.

Many began to ask themselves, “Maybe it’s Ao Chen?” After all, the only master of the Myriad Demon Valley that they could recall was that old dragon named Ao Chen from several years back.

The huge losses that Ao Chen brought about remained an issue even today.

Even at the time, countless people in Southeast Asia still despised Ao Chen to the very core.

There were statistics saying that the battle that happened several years ago resulted in tens of millions of people in Southeast Asia losing their lives.

Regardless of whether or not they were as bad as the two previous wars, even wars fought between humans never saw such a harrowing number of casualties.

Even so, Ao Chen managed to kill that many people within only a few days.

One could imagine just how severely damaged that the nations of Southeast Asia were back then.

That was exactly why, upon hearing that the monsters from the Myriad Demon Valley were there to help the humans, everyone felt that something was out of place.

However, everyone knew that Ao Chen was truly dead. Its shredded body was collected by the Human Alliance to become important research materials.

Even though everyone was certain of this, the Myriad Demon Valley still suddenly showed up. Many humans began to wonder if the demons had a new master now.

However, a consensus was quickly reached: The intentions of both the monsters from the Myriad Demon Valley and their master didn’t matter right now.

They knew without a doubt one basic thing about what the demons were doing there at that moment: The demons were their allies in this battle, not their enemies.

With the aid of the sea monsters that suddenly emerged, the humans somehow managed to fend off the attacks from the countless demons before they could enter the city.

Time was of the essence.

More fighters would show up as reinforcements over time. The military forces stationed near Fu City would come to back them up as well.

To instantly raise morale amongst the countless people present, someone shouted in the dark of night, “Keep those demons outside the city! We definitely can’t allow them to get inside. With our families and friends in there, we have no other choice. We cannot allow them to go any further. We shall hold the line or die trying!”

It was true that they had no other options.

Nobody dared to think of how severe the consequences would’ve been if they let the demons flood the city.

While most people had begun training and acquired some powers for self-defense, that meager bit of powers would be utterly useless against the endless horde of hellspawns.

As such, the fighters were the only thing that the humans could rely on.

To make matters worse, many people still had yet to begin cultivating. Those people were common folks who were utterly defenseless, to begin with. There was simply no way those people could stand a chance against the demons themselves.

The battles continued to rage on.

The humans and the monsters worked together to kill those powerful demons.

That was something that had never been seen before. Many felt like what they were seeing was part of some surreal dream they were having.

Many people even began to see things under such circumstances.

There was no doubt that the monsters were dreaded as the terrifying enemies of humanity. If the monsters were instead humanity’s allies, however, then there would be no doubt that they would serve as very reliable and trustworthy allies.

The monsters were simpletons when it came to thought processes. While they were ferocious, they were also very simpleminded. Such beings were instead much more reliable on the battlefield.

On the other side of the field, Lu Xuan breathed a sigh of relief after summoning the forces from the Myriad Demon Valley to join the battles.

There were simply too many of the demons for him to clean them up on his own in a short amount of time.

It didn’t matter if the human fighters joined forces with the military, the Heavenly Palace, the Special Task Force, and all the other sects and clans from Fu City. They would’ve still been severely outnumbered by the demons; there were tens of times more demons than humans.

Despite most of the horde consisted only of low-level demons, the slaughter that they could bring about once they got into the city was still utterly horrifying to think about.

As such, he had to rely on the power of the sea monsters from the Myriad Demon Valley to fend off the demons and keep them out of the city.

There was no doubt that Lu Xuan had to use his trump card now.

However, he did not mind at all. After all, he had to make use of that trump card eventually.

There was no way he could hide that trump card forever.

He knew that while he would be considered as equally powerful as the Human Alliance for commanding such a force, many people would also deem him an eyesore.

Those people would see Lu Xuan as some kind of loose cannon threatening everyone else.

However, he was not worried about this at all. A tree that stood out in the woods would get hit by the wind, but the tree’s strength still needed to be considered. If that tree had been around for over 1000 years, not even the strongest winds wouldn’t be able to topple it.

Lu Xuan needed such a force to serve him as well; he needed to steer the direction of development of the entire Human Alliance.

He left Yunxuan Villa, behaving like a beast in human form as he moved out. He struck down any demon who did not manage to evade in time wherever he went. Their bodies were quickly reduced to pieces as bones, flesh, and blood sprayed everywhere.

It took him mere moments to arrive outside of Yunxuan Villa. There, he saw that huge rift hanging in midair.

One hellspawn after another climbed out of the rift, which then went out to terrorize in every direction right away. One by one, demons climbed out of the right and instantly proceeded to terrorize everyone in every possible direction.

One Caucasian human was seen among the demons hysterically laughing as he said, “Hahahaha, the demons of Hell shall rule the world!”
